Hello everyone, I hope you are well and that you had a great season. Here in Lyon, we are already thinking about next year ! The project took some time to take shape, but we are finally ready to invite you to an "off"-authentic camp, during the Easter weekend of 18th to 21st april 2014. We are expecting friends from numerous groups in France, including our hosts from Bouvines, but also Italy, UK, and Germany.

The time frame of the event is going to be 9th to 11th century and we hope to confront viking and norman groups on the battlefield. The program is yet to be defined, there will hopefully be workshops in the morning, and a general battle the afternoon, but non-warriors are more then welcome to join us as we would like to please everyone. We are only inviting groups that we know from 1st hand contact, as our main concerns are safety, and historical accuracy. The participation fee has been set to 20 euros, and the dead line for sending your registration is the 20th january.

The site we are booking has been successfully tested as a setting for a historical camp. Located in a small and quiet village cul-de-sac, circled by tall trees and a stream, the site is composed of 2 great fields, a wooden area, and a large mill converted in a restaurant/guest-house. Water and wood supplies are in abundance, and easily accessible. A large refrigerated chamber will be available to store the food supplies during the whole weekend. There are several toilets, accessible in the building on the site,as well as a shower, and a bathroom.

My viking group, Grävlingar is co-organizing this event with our norman friends, Anatis Ordo. We will provide more info on the rules and organization soon. We know it's a long way for you, but we would be pleased to have you.

Bonjour you crazy Badger, hope you've had a nice and violent wedding. ;)

Thanks for the invitation, sounds excellent! We're going to do some talking and then get back to you. :)

Hi again, I hope you have received all the info by email and that you will be able to transfer them to the members of your group who would be interested :)

My wedding was very nice, thanks, and violent as well. If you ever need the hospital emergencies, make sure to wear a white dress because they'll put you on top of the list  ::)

WHAT?!  :o

I'm well aware that different people might have different wedding ceremonies, but hitting the bride...uhm...sounds a bit odd.

Please let me know, if you think about assembling a host to solve a matter of honour.

Yours,

Æthelweard Slurring Tongue

PS: All the best to you and your husband. :)

Sonntag:
Morgens: Das Gleiche wie Samstag
Nachmittags: Feldschlacht mit einem Ziel (d.h. Capture the flag oder VIP)

Dimanche :
Matin : idem samedi matin
Après-midi : Bataille rangée avec un objectif (soit capturer un drapeau, soit atteindre une personne).
19h : on refera sans doute un apéro, parce qu'on a souvent soif.

This comes a bit late, but I wish you all a happy, fulfilling new year.

Thank you Chris for translating the programm :) We are closing the registrations Monday. So far we have managed to gather various friends from France, a small warband from Italy and 2 adventurous people from England. Now we can start praying for the weather ! As much as we would have enjoyed sharing sweat and drinks with you, we understand the difficulties to organize such a long trip. I hope however that the FN will attend Bouvines 2014, even if the location has changed.

Warm regards

Happy new year. Btw, not all might be lost. We're doing the talk right now.
